I was at the School of the Americas protest a few weeks ago. It is usually the largest protest in the
US, and it is specifically aimed at combating US imperialism in Latin America. There were
thousands of people there from all over the country, brought together by the common goal of
wanting to shut down the School of the Americas permanently.
The SOA is the place where countless men have been trained to basically destroy any attempts
at South America to rise up against Yankee imperialism, and the thousands of crosses I got to
see stuck in the fence really moved me


On the second day of the conference, I went to a workshop put on by Fight Back! News about US
bases in Colombia. The participants on the panel were representatives from various organizes,
including SDS. They talked at length about the brutality of the civil war being waged in Colombia,
and how the US government plans to extend its power into the region and further repress the
people struggling for their land and freedom against the murderous Uribe regime. They also
talked extensively about the demonization of the FARC-EP and what that means for activists
trying to resist US imperialism here at home.

"'Pepe' The [NEW] Dictator"

Honduras has a new leader to look forward to! This time the strongman won't be donning gray
hair, but rather dark hair his name is Porfirio ‘Pepe’ Lobo Sosa (seen her shaking hands with our
two-faced bitch Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton).

Pepe, a rich landowner and right wing advocate, was 'expected to win' long before the results
were counted and/or the vote certified and one can only assume what his 'presidency' will bring.

It's a travesty that the United States government engages in nation-building (as clearly described
by Rep. Ron Paul), yet tolerates military strongmen to crush democratic institutions and infringe
upon the most basic civil liberties of an unarmed people -- this with a U.S. military base (Soto
Cano) w/ a troop force of 700 kicking back as mere spectators.

Honduras is home not only to a powerful capitalist elite, but torture specialists long linked to the
CIA have brashly and unapologetically done set up shop in Honduras and today give interviews
and speak as "political commentators" on "situation in Honduras. Those of us that believed
Barack Obama was going to bring any kind of "change" in regards to U.S. Foreign Policy can now
unequivocally admit: 'we've been duped!'

To think... I voted for Hillary in the
primary and then Obama in the
national elections...

To think this is the kind of
"CHANGE" that two-face president
of ours was talking about all along.

I don't care if Hillary ever gets the
DNC node, this pic will forever
loom over her head w/ me. I'll never
vote for this sellout. Never - means
never.

“La juventud tendrá que ser el factor esencial en la transformación que esta sociedad injusta reclama, para dar paso a una nueva sociedad” Cuantas veces hemos tenido la necesidad de afirmar constantemente nuestros ideales, más aún cuando es en la figura de Salvador Allende Gossens en donde nos vemos representados. Nos autodenominamos Allendistas, somos parte de la generación que no tiene miedo a expresarse, a demostrar que es posible una sociedad con oportunidades enmarcadas en la igualdad, en el respeto y la sana convivencia, luchamos, nos educamos y buscamos diversos caminos para llevar a cabo estos objetivos, muchos de ellos enmarcados en gran medida en el desarrollo político, por que sentimos, que es el núcleo, en donde podemos comenzar con los cambios más intensos para acceder nuevamente al desarrollo de una sociedad socialista. Trabajamos por ello con toda nuestra fuerza, pero muchas veces no comenzamos por los cambios más simples, aquellos que nos negamos a mirar o muchas veces actuamos con total indeferencia. ¿Qué paso con el respeto hacia los demás?, ¿Qué paso con el respeto hacia las personas más humildes?, ¿Por qué nos negamos a ayudar a los ancianos cuando ellos necesitan de nosotros?, ¿Por qué les negamos el asiento?, ¿Por qué no respetamos a los trabajadores que realizan desde labores domesticas, como también son funcionarios del aseo en supermercados? ¿Por qué los volvemos invisibles? ¿Acaso el verdadero cambio, la verdadera fuerza con la cual nos proclamamos orgullosos Allendistas no contempla el respeto hacia el otro? Hago esta reflexión para que seamos capaces de entender que el Allendismo, no solo es el trabajo político, o en organizaciones sin fines de lucro, también pasa por motivarse y cambiar las cosas desde uno, no negando la ayuda al otro, al contrario, estas llamadas pequeñas cosas son las que empiezan a transformar a la sociedad, sobre todo en nuestro país en donde el gran desarrollo y el individualismo, ha convertido al ser humano tremendamente egoísta, calculador y manipulador. Tenemos la tarea en nuestras manos no debemos olvidar nunca, que el progreso para una sociedad mejor comienzan cuando somos capaces de entregar parte de nuestro tiempo en cosas tan simples, tan sencillas, pero que nos dejan con una satisfacción tremenda, pues nos reafirman, la idea que es posible cambiar una sociedad, un país y un futuro.
